I’m going to keep this one short and sweet. Alright. I was skeptical on this one just based on the cast alone. It stars Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin and some other dude (all you need to know). Jordan Turner (Berry) is a 911 emergency response operator who in the beginning seems like hot shit. She takes a call and ***spoiler*** makes a mistake leading to some not so good situations. She of course takes it personally and bam, we’ve got a story. The next call she takes is from Casey (Breslin) who is a young teenage girl who gets abducted.
The plot twists and turns and leads us to a seemingly well designed climax. I’ll be honest, I was entertained and rather into it until the last 20 minutes. If your one of those people who bases an entire movie of the ending (which I’ll admit I do too) then just don’t pick this one up. I liked the vantage point of the abduction/chase/investigation being from the 911 operator, it was fun and inventive. The last 20 minutes unfortunately undoes all realism and character believability the first 2 chapters of the movie set up. I threw my hands up in disapointment and immediately came back to the reality that it’s a mainstream Hollywood thriller starring Halle Berry, what did I expect?? If you’re bored and really can’t pick anything else worth watching, give it a go.
